In May 2025, Ineris had the pleasure of welcoming Anna Serpetsidaki, a researcher at the University of Patras in Greece, for a technical exchange
on distributed fibre optic sensing (DTSS) solutions, which she plans to apply to an in situ monitoring project on an active fault in Patras.
At the start of her visit to Nancy, Anna gave a seminar presenting her research on seismicity in the Gulf of Corinth, focusing in particular on the characterization of a recently
identified active fault located on the University of Patras campus.
The following days were dedicated to technical and scientific discussions on the potential of fibre optic monitoring (DTSS) to track displacements along the identified fault and on
the planning of a potential field deployment. Ineris shared its experience gained during the
ANR FIMOPTIC project on the Garpenberg mining site in Sweden, operated by a Swedish mining
company. A hands-on session with the interrogator acquired by Ineris in 2022 was also carried out.
This initial collaboration through Anna’s visit will continue in the coming months.
