DAS Data Master Class at the EGU Galileo Conference

Master Classes: Training in Data Analysis Tools – processing and analysis of DAS data

EGU Galileo Conference - DAS Data Master Class
Derrick Chambers, our expert in fibre-optic technologies, has been invited to lead a master class at the European Geosciences Union (EGU) Galileo Conference. Scheduled for 31 August 2026, the session is part of the “Master Classes: Training in Data Analysis Tools” programme and will focus on the processing and analysis of Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) data.

During this training session, participants will explore the main open-source tools available for DAS data exploitation, covering the entire workflow from data pre-processing to advanced analytical techniques. The course aims to provide a practical overview of current solutions while demonstrating their applications across a range of fields, including infrastructure monitoring, environmental studies, geosciences, and risk management.

This invitation highlights the growing interest of the international scientific community in fibre-optic sensing technologies, which are opening up new opportunities for real-time monitoring and the observation of natural phenomena. The master class will also serve as a platform for sharing best practices and showcasing the reference tools widely adopted by researchers and practitioners worldwide to unlock the full potential of DAS data in both scientific and operational contexts.
